- An integrated solution using bench spreadsheets to monitor Quality control indicators and performance in medicine laboratoriesPublication . Miranda, Armandina; Costa, Sandra; Costa, Alcina; Alvim, Marta; Correia, Helena; Carletto, Aline; Faria, Ana PaulaLaboratory Quality Control (LQC) in medical laboratories is a tool to monitor the procedures of pre analytical, intra analytical and post analytical phases. The data statistic analyze allow the quantification of the random errors using the variation coefficients (CV%) obtained by Internal Quality Control (IQC) and the systematic errors (bias%), from the results of External Quality Control (EQC). These results are combined to calculate the Total Error (TE) and Measurement of Uncertainty (MAU), that allows the knowledge of the precision and accuracy and follow the performance of laboratory by comparison with the quality specifications. The main objective is to present a tool as a bench spreadsheet developed in National Institute of Health Doctor Ricardo Jorge (INSA), aiming to help the national and portuguese speaking countries laboratories, to calculate the main indicators of the LQC: TE, Sigma level and MU using IQC and EQC results, in a simplified way.

Carletto, Aline; Miranda, Armandina; Faria, Ana Paula; Marques, CristinaA auditoria externa é uma das metodologias de avaliação do Sistema de Gestão da Qualidade (SGQ) aplicada a laboratórios clínicos, que visa verificar o cumprimento dos requisitos normativos e a conformidade com as boas práticas laboratoriais. O Controlo da Qualidade Analítico (CQA) no contexto do laboratório clínico é um sistema de deteção e controlo de erros dos métodos analíticos que inclui o Controlo da Qualidade Interno (CQI) e o Controlo de Qualidade Externo (CQE), permitindo a emissão de resultados precisos e exatos. O hemograma é um dos testes laboratoriais mais frequentemente solicitados, constituindo a base de numerosas intervenções médicas, sendo, portanto, de primordial importância, a transmissão de resultados analíticos confiáveis. O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar o SGQ de quatro laboratórios clínicos, com foco nos resultados do CQI e do CQE na área de hematologia, como indicadores da qualidade. A avaliação simula uma auditoria de qualidade remota tendo como referencial normativo NP EN ISO 15189: 2014.
- Remote Audit for Quality Control Evaluation in Four Clinical Laboratories focus in hematologic parameters - Portugal and Brazil, 2018Publication . Carletto, Aline; Miranda, Armandina; Faria, Ana Paula; Marques, CristinaThe external audit is an evaluation feature of the clinical laboratories Quality Management System (QMS), which aims to determine if the quality requirements, according to an implemented normative reference, comply with good laboratory practices. Analytical Quality Control (AQC) in clinical laboratory is an analytical method error detection system that includes Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Control (EQC), allowing the transmission of precise and accurate results. Count Blood Cells (CBC) is one of the most frequently requested laboratory tests, and is the basis of numerous medical interventions, and therefore the transmission of reliable and appropriate analytical results is very important. The results presented is part of the thesis for conclusion the clinical analysis master's. The assessment simulates a remote quality audit according to ISO NP EN ISO 15189:2014. The main objective is to validate online questionnaire and spreadsheets, used to collect data of QMS and to evaluate IQC and EQC results in the area of hematology, as quality indicators from four clinical laboratories.
