Abstract(s)
no nosso país.
2016 (524/100.000) a 2018 (605/100.000).
Portugal has one of the highest prevalence rates of diabetes in Europe among their adult population. Therefore, there is an urgent need for improved awareness, diagnostics and management of the disease. The aim of this work was to analyze trends in diabetes incidence rate, between 2016 and 2018, using data from the Portuguese General Practitioner’s Network. We observed an increasing trend in diabetes incidence rate from 2016 (524 / 100,000) to 2018 (605 / 100,000). The upward trend was observed more sharply in females (520/ 100,000 in 2016 versus 627/ 100,000 in 2018) and the age group from 65 to 74 years old was in general the most affected.
