O presente artigo pretende descrever um estudo de caso onde a metodologia Seis Sigma e o método DMAIC foram aplicados aos resultados
dos parâmetros Colesterol Total, Colesterol LDL e Triglicéridos do Programa de Avaliação Externa da Qualidade de Química Clínica. O estudo
teve como objetivo avaliar os resultados recorrendo à métrica Sigma e
propor medidas efetivas na melhoria da qualidade dos resultados dos
laboratórios participantes. Foram utilizadas diversas ferramentas para
sustentar as decisões tomadas em cada fase do ciclo DMAIC. O estudo
foi bem-sucedido na avaliação dos resultados, mas não foram atingidos
os objetivos de melhoria, considerando-se uma das principais causas o
facto do seu desenvolvimento em ambiente de pandemia.
This article intends to describe a case study where the Six Sigma methodology and the DMAIC method were applied to the results from the Total Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol and Triglycerides parameters of the External Quality Assessment of the Clinical Chemistry Program developed by the Programa Nacional de Avaliação Externa da Qualidade. The study aimed to evaluate the results using the Sigma metric and develop improvement measures to increase the quality of the results from the participating laboratories. Several tools were used to support the decisions made at each phase of the DMAIC cycle. The study was successful in evaluating the results; however, the improvement goals were not achieved, considering the pandemic environment during which the study was carried out as one of the main causes.
