Ticks are competent vectors of both animal and human pathogens. Hard ticks secure their meals by attaching to a host for several days. Even though some animals are capable of acquiring some resistance to ticks after several infestations, tick attachment to naïve cattle often result in skin lesions because host inflammatory reaction is not enough to induce efficient responses capable of leading to ticks skins detachment. In order to characterize the recruitment of local inflammatory responses, two Holstein-Frisea females were infested with laboratory reared Hyalomma lusitanicum adult ticks.pt_PT
