Abstract(s)

The Project is a international cooperation within the framework of improving the Laboratory Quality, with respect to the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients, between representatives of the different countries where Portuguese is the official language. The quality of medical laboratory services is crucial in the total healthcare service providing information to the best medical decisions. Identification of needs: Questionnaires and Visits of laboratories lead to the conclusion that 1) Great disparity in equipment, reagents and in the implementation of quality control and 2) A significant lack of knowledge about internal and external quality control. Training tools: a) bi-annual Congresses, b) Worshops, stages and courses and c) Monitoring results of analytical results of application of quality control tools. Tasks already done: 3 Congresses in Brazil (2015), Portugal (2017) and Mozambique (2019). Next Congress will be held in Cape Verde in 2021.
