Abstract(s)
Assim, a aplicação
The risks associated with the occurrence of cyanobacterial blooms are widely recognized. However, gaps in analytic and scientific knowledge are still an impediment for the appropriate human risk assessment of cyanotoxins and the adoption of suitable preventive and remediation measures. Cyanotoxins have also a toxic effect in fish, birds and mammals, and cases of animal intoxication by cyanotoxins can provide an alert to the potential toxic effects in human health. The present work aims to raise awareness of the importance of applying the One Health concept to t he m onitoring a nd s urveillance o f c yanobacterial p oisoning, in the prevention of risks to public health, related to the occurrence of cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins. Therefore, the application of a One Health approach to cyanobacterial blooms can contribute to risk prevention and implementation of early management measures of the risk associated with the occurrence of cyanotoxins in aquatic resources.
