Abstract(s)

Hypertension is a multifactorial disease involving both environmental and genetic factors. It is characterized by the presence of elevated arterial tension levels and is frequently found in association with metabolic and hormonal disturbances, cardiac hypertrophy and high vascular toning. This study aimed to investigate the potential implication of common polymorphisms located in NOS3, HBA and G6PD genes in hypertension development in the Portuguese population.
