Early impact of vaccination against COVID-19 in Portuguese elderly population

Abstract(s)
This study aims to estimate the population-level impact of vaccination on incidence of SARS-COV-2 infection and COVID-19 hospital occupancy in a Portuguese population aged 80 years and over in early stage of mass vaccination campaign, controlling for effect of other non-pharmacological interventions. Our results suggest a reduction of the incidence and daily hospital occupancy in the target population supporting the implementation of the vaccination campaign in other population subgroups.
