Hospital-based test negative case control study to measure seasonal influenza vaccine effectiveness against influenza laboratory confirmed sari hospitalisation among the elderly in Portugal: season 2018-19

Objectives: The aim of the EVA Hospital study was to measure IVE against influenza laboratory confirmed SARI hospitalized in the older adult population at national level and contribute to the European estimate. In specific, it was intended to estimate 2018-19 seasonal influenza VE against SARI laboratoryconfirmed influenza requiring hospitalization, when possible: by age group (65-79 years, 80+ years) and; by presence of chronic conditions.
